Hart nearing City exit

Joe Hart’s Manchester City career is in jeopardy as Pep Guardiola is looking for alternative goalkeeping options.

The 29-year-old has made over 250 appearances in the Premier League for Manchester City, winning two titles and 4 golden glove awards.

He has also won two League Cups and one Fa Cup with the Citizens and helped guide City to their first ever Champions League semi final last season.

However,. his successful spell at Manchester City hasn’t protected him from criticism and his Euro 2016 performances for England did nothing to silence the doubters.

One of those being Pep Guardiola. His style of football dictates that the goalkeeper is good with the ball at his feet and it would seem that he does not believe Hart has the credentials to succeed with his demands.

City have put in bids for both Barcelona goalkeepers – Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Claudio Bravo with the latter apparently agreeing a move worth £17m.

However, Hart is apparently only looking for a loan move away from the Etihad this season as he believes that with only two weeks left of the transfer window, there is not enough time to make such a huge career move.

Linked highly with the England number 1’s services are La Liga side Sevilla and Premier League Everton. Both options have their pros and cons though as Everton would see him locate rather more conveniently with it being situated in the North West.

Additionally, he is accustomed to Premier League football so there should be little reason to worry about a troubled settling in period. Finally, whilst Martin Stekelenburg performed admirably in the first game of the season, Hart’s capture would no doubt see him become Everton’s first choice goalkeeper.

On the other hand, a move to Sevilla would see the Hart move to pastures new. Moving to La Liga would ensure that Hart improves his technical ability with the ball meaning that after a years loan, he might be reconsidered a part of Guardiola’s plans. It would also be a refreshing move for a goalkeeper who has been at the same club for ten years now.

Whatever decision is taken, keep a close eye on developments in the Joe Hart saga.
