A friendly between arch rivals River Plate and Boca Juniors saw five players see red and a mass brawl ensue in the middle of the game.

Argentinian star Carlos Tevez gave away a penalty in the 17th minute or a handball, which was duly converted by Leonardo Pisculichi for the only goal of the game.

New Boca signing Jonathan Silva was sent off for a violent lunge on Gabriel Mercado just ten minutes into his debut for his new club. Gino Peruzzi and Daniel Diaz then joined Silva in the changing rooms, as both saw red for a poor tackle and dissent respectively.

River Plate centre back Jonathan Maidana was then dismissed for a headbutt on Tevez, which sparked a mass brawl amongst players and staff from both sides. Goalscorer Pisculichi was also sent off for his involvement in the incident.

The game ended with a total of nine players on bookings, and 40 fouls being committed.
