IT’S here. The big kick off. And thank goodness for that. Why? To reacquaint myself with my team, rub shoulders again with friends and fellow fans and to find my way to my usual pre-match bar?
Yes. All of that. But more importantly it means the end of friendlies. I bloody hate friendlies.
Every year it’s the same. I end up tempted by them even though I know what’s in store. Lured by the big club or the foreign stars about to descend on my doorstep for a kick about at a knockdown price.
