Late Tackle January and February 2026 edition

Last season, Burnley grafted their way to promotion to the Premier League by keeping it tight and stacking up a laundry load of clean sheets.

This time around, Frank Lampard’s Coventry entertainers seem determined to fire their way into the top flight on the back of a barrage of goals.

With a whopping 50 strikes from their opening 18 games, the Sky Blues are proving an unstoppable force. In this edition, Coventry fan Kevin Halls reflects on their amazing start and considers whether they can keep it going.

It’s just one of a real mix of articles from past and present that will hopefully satisfy all tastes. Whether the subject is Kevin Keegan, Florian Wirtz or Gerd Muller, we hope you enjoy.

Thanks, as always, go to all our contributors.

If you fancy writing for the magazine, please get in touch. You can send submissions and ideas to [email protected]

We read everything that comes in and use the best stuff each issue. Please do remember that as the magazine is printed only every six weeks or so, we can’t use time-sensitive pieces.

That aside, the main rule is there are no rules: as long as your piece is about football (pretty crucial, that) and on the right side of legal, we’ll consider it for publication.

We just want stuff that is interesting, funny, poignant, insightful, or maybe even all four.

Finally, I’d like to wish you, our loyal readers, a great festive period – and a hatful of goals if you get out to games over Christmas and New Year.
