Ahead of the Carabao Cup final, the general feeling seemed to be that Arsenal were likely to lift the trophy.
However, no-one told Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, who turned in one of their displays of old to put the Gunners in their place.
Mikel Arteta’s men went off for their half-time break, but failed to reappear for the second half – and Nico O’Reilly did the damage with a couple of well-taken headers.
It’s one trophy in the can for City, but Arsenal are still heavy favourites to win the more important prize of the Premier League. At the time of writing, they hold a nine-point lead over their closest rivals, who have one game in hand.
Even if City triumph when the sides do battle at the Etihad Stadium on April 19, they still need the Gunners to slip up elsewhere. In this edition, we take a look at the City v Arsenal rivalry as well as explore other areas of the game.
We hope there is something for everyone and thanks, as always, go to all our contributors.
If you fancy writing for the magazine please get in touch. You can send submissions and ideas to [email protected]
We read everything that comes in and use the best stuff each issue. Please do remember that as the magazine is printed only every six weeks or so, we can’t use time-sensitive pieces.
We just want stuff that is interesting, funny, poignant, insightful, or maybe even all four.
That aside, the main rule is there are no rules: as long as your piece is about football (pretty crucial, that) and on the right side of legal, we’ll consider it for publication.
