PATIENCE PAYS OFF FOR JONO: Steve Penny chats to Scarborough Athletic boss Jonathan Greening

Steve Penny speaks to former Manchester United midfielder Jonathan Greening about life in the hotseat at his home-town club Scarborough Athletic.

It says a lot about Jono Greening that he was so keen to be the Scarborough Athletic manager that he did it for nothing for two years – even though the club had rejected him twice before!

However, it proved to be third time lucky in 2021 with the Boro/Greening marriage since becoming a perfect match.
Greening enjoyed a top-class professional career after being scouted by York City while playing youth football in Scarborough.
He reached the heights of a place in the Manchester United squad for their memorable last-gasp 1999 Champions League win against Bayern Munich at Barcelona’s Camp Nou.
