Snow joke: When football was put on ice in 1963

WE’VE lost plenty of games to Covid in recent weeks, but at least it’s not been as bad as the winter of 1963.
‘The Big Freeze’ was one of the cold- est and harshest on record - it was so severe that it resembled Siberia and not the UK!
It started at the end of December ’62 and contin- ued until mid-March of ’63, and it had a devastat- ing effect on football.
On January5, only three of the scheduled 32 FACup matches were played, and just a handful of league games...
