It’s fair to say there are a few surprise teams currently flying high in the Premier League.
The likes of Bournemouth and newly promoted Sunderland have sparkled, while we turn our attention to Crystal Palace in this edition.
The Eagles have soared under Austrian boss Oliver Glasner. Silverware has been deposited in the Selhurst Park trophy cabinet and Palace are looking like one of the most well-oiled machines in the top flight.
An unbeaten Premier League start in their opening six games again showed how hard they are to break down. It’s early days of course, but many neutrals will be hoping they can continue to ruffle the feathers of the usual suspects.
Elsewhere, we look at the perils of player power following some controversial on-off transfer sagas over the summer and recall when Alf Ramsey successfully put his stamp on the England team.
We’ve got a real mix of articles from past and present that will hopefully satisfy all tastes. Thanks as always go to all our contributors.
If you fancy writing for the magazine please get in touch. You can send submissions and ideas to [email protected]
We read everything that comes in and use the best stuff each issue. Please do remember that as the magazine is printed only every six weeks or so, we can’t use time-sensitive pieces.
That aside, the main rule is there are no rules: as long as your piece is about football (pretty crucial, that) and on the right side of legal, we’ll consider it for publication.
We just want stuff that is interesting, funny, poignant, insightful, or maybe even all four.
