Tough times: Birmingham’s St Andrew’s home

IT’S hard to believe it was early March 2020, two years ago, when Birmingham City’s St Andrew’s home was last fully open to the fans.
The pandemic began around that time and it was not until last August that just over 10,000 fans were allowed to attend a home fixture.
It had been just before Christmas 2020 that a routine annual survey identified “corrosion within the steelwork propping up the stands known as the Tilton Road and The Kop”.
