January 8, 2022 and January 21, 2023 have become important dates for Birmingham City Football Club and the progress of women in football.
The first saw Rebecca Welch become the first woman to referee an FA Cup third round tie within the men’s game.
It was undoubtedly a special day for Rebecca but, as so often is the case, a disappointing one for the Blues as we lost 1-0 in extra-time to League One opponents Plymouth.
