NOW that administration has brought hope to Wednesdayites that new owners are on the way to end the gloom, I can’t help but wonder how I got into this.
It was 1954 when I first saw a Wednesday match. I was seven years old. At school we had divided ourselves up into Wednesday or United, going along with our dads or brothers, a family thing.
My family was split. Uncle Bill and Uncle Harry were United but their sister, Aunty Bec, was Wednesday. My dad wasn’t bothered either way.
