Pogba transfer saga continues to run

Paul Pogba has been at the centre of this summers transfer speculation and the attention surrounding his future shows no sign of stopping.

Last week we reported on the supposed £100 million pound bid that Manchester United had made but as of yet nothing has been released by Juventus or Manchester United, with £105 million the latest figure being banded around the media.

Real Madrid’s interest in the French international seems to have cooled off over the last week after manager Zinedine Zidane said he was a big fan of Pogba but is happy with his current squad.

United are currently in China on their pre-season tour with games against Borussia Dortmund and local rivals Manchester City scheduled over the next five days but the absence of vice-chairman Ed Woodward however has had tabloids and fans speculating that he was back home trying to sort out a deal.

Mourinho said he had three of the four players he wanted after signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly already.

Woodward will be keen to sort out his transfer business as quick as possible after being heavily criticised in 2013 and 2014 with much of United’s business in the first two seasons post Sir Alex Fergusan being done at the back end of the transfer window.

Pogba’s agent counts Ibrahimovic and Mikhitaryan amongst his other clients and United will be hoping Woodward can use that relationship to secure a deal.

Many pundits and fans have questioned whether or not he justifies the price-tag after failing to star in France’s run to the Euro 2016 final, especially as United released the same player for nothing in 2012.

One thing is for sure, Pogba will continue to be the focus of the media until either he moves or midnight strikes on August 31st.
