Kevin Halls looks ahead to Coventry City’s return to the Premier League after 25 years away, assessing their summer recruitment and chances of staying in the top flight.

As a Coventry City supporter for 60 odd years, I’ve got to admit I’m looking forward to the new season with a mixture of excitement and trepidation.
A quarter of a century has passed since the Sky Blues were relegated from the Premiership in 2000-01.
Suffering the drop that campaign along with us were rock-bottom Bradford City and a certain Manchester City.
I wonder what became of them!
Good times are back
Now with football legend Frank Lampard as manager and with a forward-thinking owner in Doug King, the good times have returned to Coventry City after years of upheaval and negativity.
