Was a trip to watch football in Central Asia actually the great idea I had convinced myself it was?
Was I really going to find much football culture? Had overlooking the traditional football meccas of Italy, Spain or Germany in favour of Uzbekistan perhaps been a little hasty?
I shouldn’t have worried. What was in store was an unexpected insight into a region breaking new footballing ground, with history being made and milestones surpassed.
