Roma part company with Rudi Garcia

Roma have sacked Rudi Garcia after only winning once in their last ten games.

The 51-year-old took the job in 2013 after a successful spell in charge of Lille. He twice led Roma to second place in Seria A but has struggled to have the same effect this season and leaves the club sitting in 5th place.

A statement by Roma’s President Jim Pallotta read, “On behalf of myself and everyone at AS Roma, I’d like to thank Rudi Garcia for all of his hard work since joining the club. We’ve all enjoyed some great moments during his time at Roma but we believe that this is the right time for a change.”

In his 118 games in charge of Roma Garcia came away with 61 victories and a win ratio of 52%.

It seems highly likely that Luciano Spalletti will make a return to Roma to replace Garcia. Spelletti guided Roma to two Copa Italia trophies during his four years in charge of the club.
